Hoy es el Día Nacional de las Víctimas del Comunismo, marca 100 años desde la Revolución Bolchevique en Rusia, la revolución bolchevique dio origen a la Unión Soviética y sus oscuras décadas de comunismo opresivo, una filosofía política incompatible con la libertad, la prosperidad y la dignidad de la vida humana.

Durante el siglo pasado, los regímenes totalitarios comunistas en todo el mundo han asesinado a más de 100 millones de personas y sometido a innumerables más a la explotación, la violencia y la devastación incalculable, estos movimientos, bajo el falso pretexto de la liberación, privaron sistemáticamente a personas inocentes de los derechos que Dios les otorgó de culto libre, libertad de asociación e innumerables otros derechos que consideramos sacrosantos, los ciudadanos que anhelan la libertad fueron subyugados por el estado mediante el uso de la coacción, la violencia y el miedo.

Hoy recordamos a los que han muerto y a todos los que continúan sufriendo bajo el comunismo, en su memoria y en honor al espíritu indomable de aquellos que han luchado valientemente para extender la libertad y las oportunidades en todo el mundo, nuestra Nación reafirma su firme determinación de hacer resplandecer la luz de la libertad para todos los que anhelan un futuro más brillante y libre.

National Day for the Victims of Communism

Today, the National Day for the Victims of Communism, marks 100 years since the Bolshevik Revolution took place in Russia. The Bolshevik Revolution gave rise to the Soviet Union and its dark decades of oppressive communism, a political philosophy incompatible with liberty, prosperity, and the dignity of human life.

Over the past century, communist totalitarian regimes around the world have killed more than 100 million people and subjected countless more to exploitation, violence, and untold devastation. These movements, under the false pretense of liberation, systematically robbed innocent people of their God-given rights of free worship, freedom of association, and countless other rights we hold sacrosanct. Citizens yearning for freedom were subjugated by the state through the use of coercion, violence, and fear.

Today, we remember those who have died and all who continue to suffer under communism. In their memory and in honor of the indomitable spirit of those who have fought courageously to spread freedom and opportunity around the world, our Nation reaffirms its steadfast resolve to shine the light of liberty for all who yearn for a brighter, freer future.
